This is my 4th visiting this restaurant. The first 3 times were all within 4 months in 2015. After a good 3 years, I was back in the place that I remembered had the best cost performance for A5 wagyu beef. Back then, this place wasn't so popular, most of the customers were Japanese and I fortunate that I chanced upon an article written by Japanese man about this place. I remember vividly how phenomenal the beef bowl was and the overall experience was sublime. Fast forward 3 years later to 2018, I found myself lining up with foreigners; a good mix of Koreans and Chinese tourists, all bickering about how they discovered this place and how they can't wait to dig in to those strips of A5 wagyu beef. Honestly, I felt a little uncomfortable being wedged among so many tourists. But of course, that's not very important, the focus should be on the meal yes?

So what do you think? This meal cost 2000 Yen Nett and I have to admit that has to be one of the best cost performance lunch sets that I've ever eaten. Take note though, it is limited to 30 servings a day so come early and line up before the crowd of tourists zeros in. Unfortunately, it's either my taste buds have improved tremendously or for whatever reason, the beef just didn't taste as good as last time. I remember the beef used to be really pleasant to chew on and you could taste the sweetness of the fat as in begins to melt on your tongue. This time though I didn't feel that the beef was all that good; in fact despite the marbling, it just didn't feel like A5 beef. Maybe it was a one off event for the restaurant? Maybe my taste buds really became more refined from all the good things that God has blessed me with. But yeah, I was a little disappointed...having said all this, I still think this is a great lunch spot; you're getting 10 slices of A5 wagyu beef and a bunch of other small things for 2000 Yen. I probably won't come back again though seeing how this place became extremely touristy and I have to line up for more than half an hour now.
