Sushi Ryu is one Sushi Ya in Fukuoka where you can sit down and order whatever you want. It serves semi high end Hakata-style sushi at a slightly higher price than most Sushi restaurants. However, the sushi pieces are bigger and usually decorated with different garnishing or condiments; all of which contribute immensely to the flavor of the sushi neta. So as you can see from the photos, this Sushi Ya allows me to order a variety of items, all of which are either of decent or pretty high quality. The beef steak and beef sushi were especially good. I'm not sure if you can tell how big the pieces are but trust me there are much bigger than the average sushi pieces.
Do note that price performance is not the best; some will say this is expensive, some will say it's a good deal considering the quality and quantity of the food served. I personally thought it could've been slightly cheaper. I went here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. If I'm not mistaken, each of us had about 15 pieces of sushi and the bill came up to about 70,000 Yen for 6 people (during lunch).
If you are on a budget, you can always consider their set lunch which costs around 5500 Yen; comes with 9+ pieces of Sushi and miso soup. Overall, I thought this was a great place to have an ending dinner to a holiday because I can order and eat my favourite things before returning to Singapore.
